A US-China robotics company building force-controlled “adaptive robots,” with its Rizon arm as the flagship product.

Flexiv was founded in Santa Clara, California in 2016, with a core team that came out of Stanford's robotics and AI research lab; its founder and CEO is Shiquan Wang. It now has business hubs in Silicon Valley, Shanghai, Beijing, Munich, and Singapore. Its flagship product is the Rizon, a 7-axis “adaptive” robot arm: every joint carries a torque sensor, enabling high-precision force control and hybrid force/position control, making it suited to contact-heavy work like polishing, assembly, and connector insertion that requires a sense of “touch,” and it is also a common experimental platform for researchers studying contact-rich manipulation. According to the company's own news page, it announced a robotics-simulation partnership with NVIDIA in June 2025 and received an investment from a long-term investment institution in March 2026 to expand its global deployment.
